January 11th, 2010 Christopher Burnett No comments

A lanyard is simply a device that allows you to secure something to your person so that you have easy access to it such as an identity card or event name tag. Commonly, a lanyard can be worn around the neck, but can also be worn on the arm, waist or wrist.

Usually, lanyards are made up of a cord; cotton, nylon, or polyester twill. Some other lanyards are made out of PVC, satin, denim, fleece or even leather.

There are a few options to attach your item to the lanyard. Alligator or bulldog clips, swivel hooks (plastic or metal), spring hooks or split rings, are a few of the ways.

There are so many people that use a lanyard these days. Lanyards have become popular on recent times. It is now possible to be able to say ‘hi’ to so many people by their first name now, because they are working their work ID cards around their necks, with their names clearly showing. They become welded almost to their body!

A plastic badge holder is often used to protect the badge from getting damaged. Most companies that sell lanyards usuallyt also sell you all the accessories too such as badge holders and other attachment hardware. If you have security passes another thing you might want to buy for your lanyard is a retractable badge reel. This chord lets the user to scan their card without having to take off the lanyard. The cards can be retracted close to their pocket so it won’t swing around the neck. It is most useful in work environments where there are moving machines. Entanglement with the moving machinery will be prevented, and so are the accidents that could arise from them. Should this be needed, you can get lanyards with built in plastic safety breakaways.

Of course, lanyards are also great for advertising purposes. By having it custom printed with a company slogan, name, or logo it will double as an advertising tag and name tag.

Flat lanyards can be printed on. Those made out of polyester twill, nylon, or cotton are usually flat and their surface are ideal for printing designs and logos. It is possible to use three different printing techniques: screen-printing, dye sublimation, and hot stamping. Hot stamping is the cheapest normally seeing it only uses 1 color. This method is best for badges used at trade shows or by students. Screen-printing produces a higher quality and longer lasting image with colored ink, should you need a more durable & better quality finish. Dye sublimation produces the most detailed & longest lasting image. However it’s also the most expensive technique.

Screen printing is a technique in which the ink is directly applied to the surface that is to be printed and this surface is called substrate. The image that is to be printed is transferred photographically to the screen in such a way that the areas not be printed is blocked and the fabric is used as a stencil. A roller moves across the screen stencil, pumping ink over the threads of the woven net in the open areas.

The silk screen printing also known as serigraphs is a multiple printing technique that involves the use of stencils in order to transfer the design. The paint is applied on the silk screen and affects the areas that are not blocked by the stencil. Many colors can be applied by using several stencils in a single print. The serigraphs was developed as a commercial medium and is still used by modern artists. The silk screen has been replaced with a polyester material that is widely available and is also cheap as compared with silk material.

Screen painting is the technique developed by the Chinese almost 2000 years back and the screen was made of human hair stretched across a wooden frame. The Japanese developed it further by using the woven silk as mesh and lacquers as stencils. Europe adopted this technique much later as it involved silk which was not available in the Europe.

The rotary machine was patented by Michael Vasilantone in’60 in the United States to print logos and team information on the bowling garments. Corporate Gift Suggestion – Pens

December 28th, 2009 Cherry Soto No comments

Pens are small, fairly inexpensive but in respect to using them for gifts they don’t get thrown away till they have been fully used, giving them a life of 1 – 2 months depending on usage. They are an ideal giveaway, because they of their versatility.

These days, black ballpoint pens are the most common ink color; many pen makers would agree. If you need advertising exposure, the black ballpoint pen cannot easily be beaten for dollar for dollar advertising and market exposure value. Your clients can be constantly reminded of your company each day when you add your branding or unique company features to the pen.

Amongst sales people & office workers, black ballpens are the most preferred. Blue is next in line in popularity. If you are a party-hire company or childrens wear business you may consider some more interesting colors such as pink or orange but you may lose out a little on usability. After all, practicality is the issue, so a gift pen with black or blue ink is your best bet.

When it comes to the exterior body of a pen imagination is the only limit. As long as the pen is still usable practically as a pen, you would still achieve your exposure goals regardless of how it looks like.

For the body of the pen you should first focus on the company information you want to add and then consider the design of the body next. If you do not do this you may end up choosing a physical design that you cannot add the information you want which would defeat the original purpose.

When it comes to the body of the pen, do not go too cheap. Quality looking pens will be used by more people than cheap looking ones. Also do not use the cheapest pen interior. We all have had the experience of trying to write with a pen that does not work and throwing it away in frustration. This experience can then leave the person reflecting the quality of the pen on your company which is not good or what you intended.

Good suppliers of corporate gifts should be able to not only purchase the pens you want in the numbers you need, but also be able to consult you on some of the pen body design and quality aspects that we have covered.

Screen Printing Tshirts So You Can Use As A Corporate Gift

December 28th, 2009 Vent Wong No comments

Printing is a process of creating pictures and text, usually using ink, paper and a printing press. Over time, printing technology has developed significantly. Different techniques are available, but screen-printing is used most of the time.

Screen-printing, also referred to as silk screening, is a method that is best for surfaces that are comparatively flat. In this process, fine mesh or a screen is tightly stretched over a rigid frame, with the screen masking areas which will not be printed. In order to make a print, the screen is placed atop the item that is to be printed; then a blob of thick ink is applied. Next the ink is pressed through the screen with the assistance of a squeegee. The ink bonds to the unmasked area, thereby creating the print, and the masked area is shielded from ink incursion. After this, the printed item goes through a heated tunnel that dries the ink so that items can be stacked or put into packages.

When more than one color is involved, the process is repeated, utilizing different screens. So, four screens would be necessary for a four-color print; they can be placed on a rotary press or done by hand, allowing each color to print in its proper place.

There are different methods of masking a screen. The easiest thing to do is to employ masking fluid right onto the screen. This process works very well for two-color graphics, while a photosensitive emulsion process is utilized for jobs involving multiple colors.

If you are unsure what to request when ordering, remember that a screen printer’s t-shirt printed with ink with plastics will be hot and tacky afterwards. It might be wise to request water-based inks if you prefer a softer, vintage-look screen printed shirt. But if you are interested in a heavily laid print, you should request ink containing plastics to be applied with a hot press.

A lot of screen printing pros utilize plastic-based inks, since they are gentler on the screen printing gear and are often stronger, more vivid and bold. Inks containing plastic may begin cracking within a brief time. Choosing natural inks creates a more attractive and longer-wearing appearance.
